DMV Happy Hours now has a complete guide to bar trivia and pub quiz nights across DC, Maryland, and Virginia, organized by night of the week, with venue links, hosts, start times, and prize details. Whether you're a Monday regular looking for a new spot or just trying to find something to do on a Tuesday, it's all in one place.
A few highlights by night
Monday Barrel in Capitol Hill is one of the highest-rated Monday trivia nights in the city, hosted by Trivia Kings at 7:30 PM. Red Bear Brewing in NoMa runs back-to-back Sporcle games at 7 PM and 8 PM, useful if you show up late or want a second round.
Tuesday The busiest trivia night in the DMV by a significant margin. Ireland's Four Courts in Courthouse is the standard-setter: free to play, pub quiz every Tuesday at 7 PM, named America's Best Soccer Bar by Men in Blazers. The Auld Shebeen in Fairfax runs two back-to-back sessions at 7:30 and 8:30 PM with gift card prizes.
Wednesday Shipgarten in Tysons runs Pour House Trivia at 7 PM. Free to play and one of the few quality Wednesday options in Northern Virginia. The Red Derby in Petworth hosts Paul Rudd Wednesday Trivia, which needs no further explanation.
Thursday The Coupe in Columbia Heights has the best trivia-plus-happy-hour combo: Cap City Trivia at 7 PM with extended happy hour specials running until 10 PM. The Brig Beergarden in Navy Yard runs weekly trivia outdoors. Dog-friendly, live music on other nights, and right next to Nationals Park.
One tip before you go: most trivia nights are free to play and start between 7 and 8 PM, which means you have a full happy hour window before the quiz begins. We included pre-quiz happy hour suggestions throughout the guide for exactly that reason.
